Is Change Good or Bad/

Article two
Is change a good thing or bad thing? That is an very important question in today’s world. Change is ever happening, and cannot be stopped; everything is changing from the leaves on the trees to the medical advances in the world. Change can be a good thing when you are talking about advances in technology, but it can be a bad thing when the change if for the worse and you change, and your friends change, and you all grow apart. In my opinion I do not think that change is either good nor bad, some people may look at change as the best thing in the world, But some people think that change is a bad thing, for example my brother, he hates change because he loves what he does, where he lives, and his life just the way it is, but unfortunately for him , he is going to college in the fall, away from our family and the comfort of our home, he is leaving to venture out into the world and to become an adult.
The technical definition of change is “cause to change; make different; cause a transformation.” Which is true, change means that something is altered, and it goes through a type of transformation, that after it is done, you are left with something different then what you started with. The change of something can be very small and seem insignificant, or it can be a life changing change where the person’s life is not the same again.
One example for a change is getting pregnant. This could be a very big change in a woman’s life. They could be starting a new life with a man they love, or just bringing someone else they love into the world. Getting pregnant is also a huge change for someone who is not married or old. For example if there is a teenager who gets pregnant, that is going to be a big change in their life. That person has to make the decision to keep the baby, terminate the baby, or give it up for adoption. That would be a very big change in that person’s life because no matter what that person does, their life would never be the same again. If the person keeps the baby, she most likely will have to drop out of school, if the person terminates the baby, she will have to live the rest of her life wondering what would of her baby been like, and lastly if the person gives the baby up for adoption, the mother would have to wonder where her baby is and how it is doing, and if the family she put it in is going to be loving enough for the child.
Another example of change is when a person makes all the wrong decision in a short amount of time, before that person’s eyes, their life changes, and they may not like what they see. Something that would make the person’s life change would be if someone got into drugs and/or alcohol. That would be bad because if the person became addicted to the drugs, they may spend all their time looking for more drugs, and spend all their money buying drugs. Doing that would most likely make the person become friendless or possible even homeless because if they spend all their money on drugs they would have none left for anything else like food of housing. If they person decided that they did not want to become homeless they may become a robber to steal the money to buy the drugs that they want. The change in the person’s life if they started drinking too young they could fry their liver, which would make them be in the hospital for most of their life, that would very life changing because if they were in the hospital they would have no time to go out with friends on the weekend, or do sports, things that most people like doing, things that would make good memories for people who experienced it when they young.
Change happens all the time and there is no stopping it. I would know because I have gone through so much change in my life. I started out like any other person in the world, I was born normal weight and seize, and then I started growing up in front of my parent’s eyes. I started playing basketball at a little age, and I kept on growing and growing. Eventually I got to the point in my life when I got to the height I am now, which is five feet and seven inches, and with all the playing of basketball when I was little brought me to where I am today, now I play basketball almost year long, playing AAU basketball in the fall, and John Carroll School basketball in the winter.
Another way in which I have gone through change in my life is the change I have had with friends. I know there is a saying that some people are meant to be in your life, and others are just meant to make appearances. I think that quote explains a lot about life and friends. When I was little I was best friends with my neighbor, who was myage, but was totally different than me. I thought that we were going to be best friends forever, but I was wrong when I found that we started drifting in fifth grade, and totally stopped seeing each other on weekends when I was in sixth grade, that was also the year I found two more very close friends, where it seemed like we were all very alike. Then, later I was shone once again that friends are not forever when we got in a fight and stopped talking in seventh grade. This brings me two where I am now where I found new friends in eighth grade, some of whom I am still very close with, others, when we see each other in the halls still say “hi”.
I think that change is neither good nor bad because through life I have found change hard at times, and other times I could not wait for it to happen because I was unhappy with the situation I was in. I think that the answer to this question is one that can only be answered by the person itself, and that there is no definite answer.

What is History

Article 1- What is History.

History is a very important thing in life today. While we are living, history is in the making, new history is forming every hour, minute, and second that we humans chose to exist. The actual definition of history is “A usually chronological record of events, as of the life or development of a people or institution, often including an explanation of or commentary on those events”. We take this to mean that history is all the events occurring up to the present time. Time is ever changing, and our time on this earth could end any second, so we should spend our life here on Earth in the best way we can helping people all the time and not worrying about our selves, or what everybody else is doing. Life is very precious and delicate and we should work to preserve it.
Know history is important because we can learn from our mistakes as humans. For example, we learned in the past that some structures of building did not work structurally, and what did work structurally. As we know that the pyramids were made wonderfully structurally and they served as other purposes like we learned in history. We learned that they were made for tombs for the Eygupistains kings, and all of the king’s belongs, so that when the king died, he had all of his possessions with him when the king when to the afterlife. Also we know from history that not all people where mummified, it was only the wealthy who could afford it, the poor did not get mummified, they were buried and their possessions where sold off to other people who could pay for it.
History is also important because without it we would have no record of our speech or our advances in technology. Without history we would have no recode to go back to and understand how we domesticated animals early in history. Without this knowledge, we most likely would forget that the domestication of animals shaped our would to what it is today, without the domestication of animals we would not have art or computers, because we would still be hunter gatherers looking for our food and living on the land, eating wild berries. Also if we never had the domestication of animal we would not have grocery stores and not have places to shop or eat, or places to do most things we do today as a past time and places we hang out with our friends. “History made the countries what they are today, and it does not only revolve around the famous things that happened it is also the little things that shaped our world to what it is today” says Leanne Ches. This is her view on history, and many other people have the same view on our world today.
History shaped America to what it is today. With history, in America, we formed government and Industries. In History, in the United States we learned how to govern ourselves and live by ourselves without England’s help. As we know, the United States is one of the most prosperous nation in the world today, and that would not have happened without History, because as a nation and the Unites States of America, we learned what types of governments worked and what did not, also we learned that people like religious freedom. With knowing that knowledge about humans, we formed one of the best countries in the world, and we still are. We, the United States, are one of the most powerful countries in the world and we owe that all to History, and what we learned in History.
McDonalds, as we know is one of the most famous fast food restaurant. We know that they operate everywhere, selling and flipping burgers twenty four hours a day. They have, through history, prefect recipes that keep their customers coming back. Without history, there would be no record of the recipes, and all of America would have to find another place to get their food from when they are on the go, in rushed situation, or just looking for a guilty pleasure. With McDonalds, they spread through the world, causing globalization, which also helped out other countries learn about our history, and where the McDonalds came from in the first place. Some people may not know it, but without history we would not have a McDonalds or Burger King.
The four types of history are Linear, Cyclic, Hegelian, and Vortex. My favorite type of History is Cyclic history. This history is that there are major forces acting and motivation humans in life today causing them to be born, to die, and to be born again. This types of history is named so because it is known as the history that is a cycle. I chose this type of history because I think it would be cool to think that after I die I will be born again. This is a good thing and a bad because if I am born again, I will experience the future, but it also mean that I will experience that pain and suffering that comes with it. Also if I am re born, I have to eventually experience the end of the world and that is something that I am not looking forward to at all. I also like this type of history because it means that I was alive in the past. This means in one of my past lives I could have been a queen or a homeless person, either way I would of have had many different experiences then what I have today, I would have had to work for myself, and plant my own food, wash my own clothes without any help, and figure out how to survive. However you look at history, there is no denying that history is the most important thing in the world, and a person should always look at what they are doing because it will eventually be marked down and become history.

Question 2

1. Identify the 'Venus of Willendorf'. What does it suggest that the beginnings of art and the domestication of animals happen during the same period in human history?

Venus of Willendorf is also known as Woman of Willendorf which is a silhouette of a woman made between 24, 000 BC and 22, 000 BC. Venus is not a actual figure of a woman, she is actually a idolization of what they wanted women to look like. They suggest one another because after the domestication of animals and crops, people had the time to work on art and technologies.

Question 1

You accidentally discover an invention that can immediately help millions of people; but only if you act immediately. On the other hand, if you just wait three months, you
can secure a patent and get rich. Which do you choose and why?

I would chose the first to take it and help people right away because if i could help the whole world at one time I would, it may bring world peace. Also i would chose to do that because money is not the important thing, living as a person is. If I was really concerned about the money I could always ask for donations for my help, and maybe people would give me money help for helping the world.

megaliths are large stone structures or group of stating stones that are believed to have religious significance. Megaliths are classified in to groups known as "dolmens" or "menhirs". Domlens are thought of to be tombs, and menhirs are large stone standing structures, These are important because they can tell us about the past and sometimes they tell us about astronomical things. Some people believe that they had magical powers and you can feel a sensation when you come close to them.

Rise of Agriculture

The importance of the rise of agriculture is that if agriculture did not happen we would not of had some of the advances in technology. The advances would not happen because if we did not agriculture, which means taking the best crops, plant them in certain place, and domesticate them, we would not of had the time to invent thing because we would always be looking for and being hunter gatherers.
