Is change a good thing or bad thing? That is an very important question in today’s world. Change is ever happening, and cannot be stopped; everything is changing from the leaves on the trees to the medical advances in the world. Change can be a good thing when you are talking about advances in technology, but it can be a bad thing when the change if for the worse and you change, and your friends change, and you all grow apart. In my opinion I do not think that change is either good nor bad, some people may look at change as the best thing in the world, But some people think that change is a bad thing, for example my brother, he hates change because he loves what he does, where he lives, and his life just the way it is, but unfortunately for him , he is going to college in the fall, away from our family and the comfort of our home, he is leaving to venture out into the world and to become an adult.
The technical definition of change is “cause to change; make different; cause a transformation.” Which is true, change means that something is altered, and it goes through a type of transformation, that after it is done, you are left with something different then what you started with. The change of something can be very small and seem insignificant, or it can be a life changing change where the person’s life is not the same again.
One example for a change is getting pregnant. This could be a very b
Another example of change is when a person makes all the wrong decision in a short amount of time, before that person’s eyes, their life changes, and they may not like what they see. Something that would make the person’s life change would be if someone got into drugs and/or alcohol. That would be bad because if the person became addicted to the drugs, they may spend all their time looking for more drugs, and spend all their money buying drugs. Doing that would most likely make the person become friendless or possible even homeless because if they spend all their money on drugs they would have none left for anything else like food of housing. If they person decided that they did not want to become homeless they may become a robber to steal the money to buy the drugs that they want. The change in the person’s life if they started drinking too young they could fry their liver, which would make them be in the hospital for most of their life, that would very life changing because if they were in the hospital they would have no time to go out with friends on the weekend, or do sports, things that most people like doing, things that would make good memories for people who experienced it when they young.
Change happens all the time and there is no stopping it. I would know because I have gone through so much change in my life. I started out like any other person in the world, I was born normal weight and seize, and then I started growing up in front of my parent’s eyes. I started playing basketball at a little age, and I kept on growing and growing. Eventually I got to the point in my life when I got to the height I am now, which is five feet and seven inches, and with all the playing of basketball when I was little brought me to where I am today, now I play basketball almost year long, playing AAU basketball in the fall, and John Carroll School basketball in the winter.
Another way in which I have gone through change in my life is the change I have had with friends. I know there is a saying that some people are meant to be in your life, and others are just meant to make appearances. I think that quote explains a lot about life and friends. When I was little I was best friends with my neighbor, who was myage, but was totally different than me. I thought that we were going to be best friends forever, but I was wrong when I found that we started drifting in fifth grade, and totally stopped seeing each other on weekends when I was in sixth grade, that was also the year I found two more very close friends, where it seemed like we were all very alike. Then, later I was shone once again that friends are not forever when we got in a fight and stopped talking in seventh grade. This brings me two where I am now where I found new friends in eighth grade, some of whom I am still very close with, others, when we see each other in the halls still say “hi”.
I think that change is neither good nor bad because through life I have found change hard at times, and other times I could not wait for it to happen because I was unhappy with the situation I was in. I think that the answer to this question is one that can only be answered by the person itself, and that there is no definite answer.

While you give some interesting examples -- such as the pregnancy issue -- they remain primarily anecdotal and don't carry the clout of examples supported by hard evidence and citations. Review MLA format.

Good work Sam! I believe that change can be both good and bad. Remember to use sources!
