be free. We wanted to be our own country, and to be able to be in control of ourselves. In the Declaration of Independence it states that "That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness;" This shows that as human, we see ourselves as all equal, and there is no reason why someone should control people when in fact we are all the same.
