Do you think Alexander honestly felt like he was avenging Persian wrongs? Or was that just propaganda to mask his goal of conquest?

I think that it was a mixture of avenging the Persians for killing his father, but he also knew he had to do it to continue taking over the world. I think that Alexander really wanted to avenge the Persian, because who would not after you know that they killed your Father when you were only 19, and after his father was killed Alexander became the king. Also I think he went there to continue his conquest, i don't think he would of went there to go and fight if he did not have to, because then he may of died without avenging his father, that would of happened if the Persian killed him. Over all I think it was a mixture between the two that made him go to Persia and kill their king.

What compels someone to lead others?

A leader is someone "who rules or guides or inspires others." In my opinion, to be a leader, there has to be a little voice or wanting to lead, not everyone is made for it. I think that being a leader is just something that you want to do, and are good at. A leader could be someone who wants something changed, and they know the only way to change it is to stand up for what they believe in, and show others that there is a different way to do things. Some leader may start out as following the pact and mob of people, doing what the mob is doing, but when they see something that is not right, they stand up for what they believe in, not caring what other people think of them. My definition of a leader is someone who will do anything to ave their voice heard, to show people that there is a different way of doing things, and that they way people are doing things now, is not always right. A leader can be found any where, you just have to look for them. There were many leader's in our past such as Matin Luther King Jr, or Geroge Washington.

Does power corrupt?

The definition of the word power is “the possession of controlling influence.” You can find power just about anywhere, you can find it in the United States in the white house, such as you can find it with the president, or you could find it in the hospital where the doctors have the power to control your life, wither you live or die from that one surgery. You can also find power in places where there are government, such as in officers or judges, they have the power to send some people to jail, and wither or not to let them go for something they did wrong, or to take them to jail.
Power can be good when it is in the hands of the right people such as in police officers that bring justice to the world and such. They make sure that nobody does anything against the law and if someone does break the law, they make sure that they handcuff them and send them to jail. Also officers have the power to kill someone at a moment’s notice, this is only if the person if opening fire on the officers, or if they have hostages. Another person with extreme power today is the President of the United States. The president, president Obama, has the power to run the country and make sure everything is in order. The president has the power to choose the chief executives and the government officials. Also the president can veto a bill if he like it, or he could use influence to get a bill that he likes passed. Also the president of the United States is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and the army. The president determines the foreign policy and represented our country to other leaders.
Power can also be a bad thing if it is in the wrong person’s hands, then it is considered corruptive. Power is bad when it is in someone’s hands, such as Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler was live from the year 1889 to 1945, and he was the head and leader of the Nazis. This was a political group that eventually turned into the most feared group in the world. Hitler and the Nazis had so much power, that they decided to kill all of the Jews in the world, Hitler once said “ that it was not enough for the Jews simply to die; they must die in agony”. This eventually brought the Nazis to seek out Jews and either kill the on the spot, send them to ghettos, to to send them to concentration camps, where they would surely meet and agonizing death after working with much food water, or any clothes. Hitler and the Nazis kill anywhere to 15,003,000 people to 31,595,000 people, and most of those people were just housewives, fathers, aged, sick, Jews, they were just normal people trying to enjoy their time on Earth, but their time got cut short the day the Adolf Hitler came into office and gained a lot of power.
In the End, power is corruptive if it is in the wrong person’s hands and they are using it the wrong way, like Hitler did killing innocent people just because he thought that they were different. Also power can be a good thing if it is in the hands of someone who is looking out for the people, most likely like the President of the United States, where he is trying to make this a better country to live in, even though sometime people may not agree with what he is doing, he is trying his best to make this a better country for all of us in the United States of America.

Explain how the origins of theatre in Athens are tied to both religion and politics

In Ancient Greece, they began all their festivals with honoring their Gods. Men were the usual people to preform the songs that honored their God Dinoysia, which was also the name of this certain festival, while the tragic poets were also chosen to present their plays. The plays had an influence on religion and politics because Oedipus, a play maker with some famous plays, assumed many powerful roles that were in the political circle. Recording.

People write a record of their past so in the future they know what they did. So in the future they can find what worked and what did not in the past. Also they can write down their past so people in the future can see what they did wrong and how to fix it. What happens in the past can effect the future by a lot, because if you did not do something it could change the whole future. People do not all see yesterday from the same way because we all have our own opinions and views. While comparing the pictures, i saw that i took my picture from an side view, and from down low, while the other person's were above and looking down on the object.

Histoy

Is History Created by 'the People' or by Individuals?
I think that History is created by people and individuals. I can be made by Individuals when a certain person does something that changes the whole world, for example Benjamin Franklin was a very important person in history, for he helped found the United States, and he, too popular belief, discovered electricity. I think that he is a very important person to history because without him we would not be the same nation we are today, we might still be walking around with candles for light, and not be a correct nation, or as strong and powerful as we are today. History can also be made by the people, for example the elections that happened, we the people in the United States of America elected the first black president in history. This might have not happened if we had different people in the United States voting, we could have just continued our path to all white males as presidents. Also we the people could also make history in the future by electing out first women president, the first one ever the United States would have, and I could be the last. But this may not happen if we don’t have the right people in the United States of America to vote for a women president. The nation could be filled with predigest people.
As said earlier, Benjamin Franklin was a very important individual in our history of the United States. Benjamin Franklin was born January 17, 1706 and he died April 17, 1790. He was one of the founding fathers of the United States and he was also an author and printer, satirist, political theorist, politician, scientist, inventor, civic activist, statesman, soldier, and diplomat. Benjamin Franklin, being a scientist, invented the lighting rod, which is a rod that makes lighting move from the sky to the ground through a pole, without going through the house and catching thing on fire. Benjamin Franklin also invented many other things such as the bifocals, and the Franklin stove. “Benjamin Franklin is credited as being foundational to the roots of American values and character, a marriage of the practical and democratic Puritan values of thrift, hard work, education, community spirit, self-governing institutions, and opposition to authoritarianism both political and religious, with the scientific and tolerant values of the Enlightenment.” Also Benjamin Franklin foundered the Union Fire Company, which was one of the first volunteer fire companies in America.(1) As we see, it seems that Benjamin Franklin was a very important individual person in history who influenced and invented many things in his lifetime, and he will always be remembered as one, in my opinion, the most influential people in history.
Another very important person in History was Jesus Christ himself. We, as Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God, came down from heaven, and died on the cross to save all of humanity form the sin that we got when Adam and Eve betrayed God in the Garden of Eden, where they took the fruit, after God told them that that fruit was the only rule in the Garden of Eden, and we betrayed him and lied. We believe that Jesus Christ was born sometime in 4 B.C. and died sometime about the time of 30 A.D, and also called Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus Christ was the person who taught us all how we should live our lives and how to be respectful to the people we know. Jesus Christ was the Son of God, and he told many stories about the way we should live, and he told stories to teach us lessons about what happened to the people who did not live the way the Jesus taught. Jesus Christ was a Jew, whom was eventually crucified under Pontius Pilate, and died, three days later he rose out of his tomb, amazing everyone, and showing them that he was the true son of God. Later, after he rose he went into heaven where he will “judge the living and the dead”, and we hope that one day we will all meet Jesus in heaven where we will finally see him face to face.(2)
Some important groups that made history were all of the Soldiers in History, they may not seem important as individuals, and many people do not know the name of all the people who died and gave their lives to defend their country, there were the solider of the Civil War, also known as the war between states between the years of 1861-1865, which was the war that was trying to get an agreement to see if the county or states should be free states or slave states. Without all the people who fought in that war, the war may not of ended up the way it did, If the side that won, would of lost, we, The United States of America, could still be a slavery state, where in some states people could be giving away slaves to other people, or where you can see people who disapprove about the slavery, but they cannot do anything about it, because they lost the war, their only chance to make The United States of America and free country.(3) The individuals who fought in the war were so important to our history, and the solider still are, for example the people who are fighting in Iraq, who are losing their lives every day, and may not know their names or anything about them, but they are giving their lives to help and save our country, and keep The United States of America the way it is, and on top of the world.
As you can see history can be made by anyone, wither it is group of people of if it is a single person doing something that has never been done before, or something to save a country. So no matter whom you are, what you do, where you live, you can always be important and make history where ever you go.

Was Athens really a democracy?

Athens was considered a democracy, acually it was considered on of the very first dfremocracy's there were in history. Many other Greek cities tried to folow Athens and make themselves a democracy, but they did their deocracy in a different way then Athens did. None of the other cities were as strong or as powerful as Athen's democracy. "It remains a unique and intriguing experiment in direct democracy where the people do not elect representatives to vote on their behalf but vote on legislation and executive bills in their own right. Participation was by no means open, but the in-group of participants was constituted with no reference to economic class and they participated on a scale that was truly phenomenal." The Olympics

Back in Accent Greek, their Olympics were for training and building up muscle for people who soon would be joining the military. Now days, we have the Olympics to show who is the best at the sport that is being played, weather it is summer Olympics with the Track and Field, or it is the winter Olympics with figure skating. In the first Olympics, there was only one event, the stadium race, Now days there are many events in the Olympics, in the Winter Olympics there are 21 events. These events differ much from the events in the Older Olympics, such as today we have Olympic events such as the Luge, and the bobsleigh.

What is the oldest human-created artifact that has mattered to you? Why/how does it matter?

The oldest human creation that has mattered to me is the Wheel. The wheel is important today because it helps us get to place to place, get us to school, or just go for a nice ride in the park. The wheel is one of the oldest inventions, and when you think of the first wheel, you think of a stone circular object that rolled when the cavemen pushed it. Also with out the wheel we would have to stay close together, and if we had family in other states, it would take forever to get there, and may not make it if there is a bad storm or anything. Also without the wheel we would not have cars. I think that the wheel was the most important invention that is still used today.

"War is a form of technology

Yes, I think that war is a type of technology because usually the country with the better advances in technology win. For example the United States is the most advance with the guns, and the tanks. The countries with the better technology with protection will also most likely have the most survival rate, because they know how to protect themselves. Most importantly i think that if you have the better advances in technology you most likely will be able to find the other country's army, and will be able to capture them and use the for ransom, assuming that the other country wants them back. So I think that war is a form of technology.

What is Important

What is 'Important'
Important can be many things, it can be referring to the things that we call important, or it can be things in history that made us what we are today, for example these things would be important to our world today. The actual definition of the word important is of much or great significance or consequence, mattering much. The definition means that anything you think that is significant, like a blanket or a teddy bear that you got when you were little, those are important to you. Things that are important to the world could include things like the domestication of animals, or the discovery of letters and math. These things are important to the world because without them we would not have developed as a country nation, or world. Important is a very broad subject that can mean many things to many people. Also people can be important to the history. There are many important women in the world that lived or are still living.

One important woman was Harriet Tubman. She was an African American Union spy during the American Civil War. When she was born she was born into slavery and when she eventually escaped, she went on thirteen missions to help other slaves escape to their freedom through the Underground Railroad. When the Civil War began, Harriet stated working for the Union army. She first started as a cook and a nurse, then later she worked as a scout and a spy, she was the first women to lead an armed expedition into the war.[2] Harriet Tubman is important because she was the conductor of the Underground freedom, and without her many of the slaves would have stayed in slavery.

Another important person in history was George Washington, the first president in the United States. George Washington was born February 22, 1732. George Washington was the commander in the Continental army, which was in the American Revolution. Washington drafted the United States Constitution in 1781, because people were not happy with the Articles of Confederation. When Washington became president in 1789, he sought out to create a new government they would prosper even through the war between Britain and France. He built the sting central government that helped fund for the national debt, he created and effective tax system, and he also created the national bank. Washington died in 1799 and will always be known as the most important president that we have ever had.[3]

The last important example of an important person in history is Isaac Newton. Isaac Newton was born the fourth of January, 1642, and was a mathematician, English physicist, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian. Isaac Newton, who is known by many, is considered by many to be some of the most influential people in history. Isaac Newton summarized the findings of all of the great scientists before him, for example the works of Galileo.[4] Newton described laws of gravitation, and the three laws of motion. Newton made the first practical reflecting telescope that is made of a prism, which when white light goes in, a visible spectrum of light and color comes out. [5]Isaac Newton was considered important to our world because without him, we would be lost in science, and all the laws and rules of gravity.

There are many important people in the world, but there are also many important events that are important to the world today. For example the domestication of animals was very important because without that we would still be hunter gatherers. The domestication of animals was the taming of animals through selection. Through the domestication of animals, we get animals that would not be normal bred through the natural process of breeding. With the domestication of animals, we can have the best animals to eat, that we know are not full of bugs, diseases, and they are easy to find. Also the domestication of crops was important for the history of the world. With the domestication of crops we can have the biggest, tastiest, juices foods, and with the domestication of crops we could have other things to eat other then the domesticated animals, and the food we found in the wild. With the domestication of crops, people could have as much food that the people wanted, without all the work. [6]

Finally the last thing that could be important is the object to you. For example I have a very import object to me, it is my charm bracelet. The charm bracelet is important to me because it reminds me of all the things I have done, all the places I have been, and all of the fun I have had along the way. On the bracelet, I have a different charm for different things. I have a manatee to remind me of the time I went swimming with the manatees with my basketball team; also I have Donald duck charm to remind me of the time I went to AAU nationals with my basketball team in Orlando, Florida. I also have many more charms that all have a special meaning to me. When other people see this bracelet they say it is pretty, but they have no idea what the meaning behind it is. I feel very happy whenever I look at it. I love my bracelet and it is very important to me.

As said before important can mean many things from all the important people in history such as George Washington, Harriet Tubman, and Isaac Newton, but important can also refer the events in history like the domestication of crops and animals, or the Civil war, or the discovery of America. Lastly important can also refer to important object that are important to certain people but not others, like my bracelet, so someone’s special necklace or blanket. Whatever the important thing is, you can be sure that it will never be forgotten by anyone, never forgot by the world or by that certain person who owns that special object that they just cannot live without.

Summary of Egypt's Secrents

When the Egyptians where alive, they believed that when the Pharaoh died, he became king of the dead, and the new Pharaoh became protector of the sun. They thought this to symbolize the risingand setting of the sun, if the process was corrupted, disaster would happen all over Egypt. To prevent this they did mummified their kings, bring them with all their belongings and everything they knew on Earth. The kings were not always buried in the pyramids, they sometimes were buried in piles with structures on top of them. Later when the Egyptians made the pyramids, and to what we think, they pointed towards a sacred stone called Benben. The people ho built the pyramids were not always the slaves, as most people think, they were also villagers overseen by the Pharaoh's workers. Some of the workers were permanent, others were just used for that time. Graffiti shows that the workers were very proud of their work. Every worker knew that their helping in getting the Pharaoh into the after life help bring glory to Egypt.
