Thucydides, Thucydides, and Livy




Herodotus- was an ancient Greek historian who lived in the 5Th century BC. He is known as the Father of history in the Western cultures. He was the first historian known to collect his leanings, and test them. He also include narrative accounts on his pieces. He wrote many books about the people the Persian conquered, fairy tales gossip, and legends.

Thucydides- was a Greek historian and author of the History of the Peloponnesian War. This was the war between Sparta and Athens in 411 BC. He has been called the father of scientific history, because of his strict standers of gathering information and cause and effect.

Livy-
In English, his name is Titus Levies. He was a Roman historian who wrote history about Rome and the Roman people. His book "Chapters from the Foundation of the City," which covers the earliest years in Rome when all the legends are.
Livy was close with the Julio-Claudian family. Later advised Augustus's nephew, the future emperor Claudius, to take up the writing of history.
