What elements of the Roman Republican political and legal system appear present in the systems of modern democracies?

The elements of the Roman Republican and legal system that appeared in modern democracies is that back then and now days they both have voting system. Voting appears in history from the 17 century to the present day. Voting is very important and helps us chose the leaders that we think will correctly run the country. Without voting we would have to leave the voting up to the people in the government, and the government would most likely not choose what the people of the country want.
