Augustine of Hippo was from November 13, 354 – August 28, 430. Augustine was a philosopher whose philosophy infused Christian doctrine with Neoplatonism. He was also the first philosopher to have an argument by an analogy for example "here are bodies external to mine that behave as I behave and that appear to be nourished as mine is nourished; so, by analogy, I am justified in believing that these bodies have a similar mental life to mine."
